Egypt's Dar al-Iftaa launched a global electronic campaign on Wednesday in celebration of Prophet Muhammad's birth. The campaign, which is in English, targets more than 30 million people around the world including Muslims and non-Muslims.
In a news statement issued on Wednesday, the Senior Advisor to the Grand Mufti, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, stated that “Snapshots From the Shining Light" which is of global reach comes to acquaint the western world with the lofty manners of the Prophet Muhammad [peace and blessings be upon him] that aim to promote love, peace and coexistence among humanity. He added that not only is it a practical response to anti-Islam campaigns that have led to an increase in Islamophobia and hate crimes against Muslims but also corrects the distorted image of Islam in the west that comes from the violence committed in its name.
The campaign, which is set to run on Dar al-Iftaa’s website throughout the month of the Prophet’s birth, will feature a series of short videos on the morals and values derived from the Prophet's biography as well as short posts titled "The Seerah in Minutes”.
