Wednesday, September 27, 2017

For the third year in a row and in pursuit of its national and international role in responding to the vital issues of Muslim communities, Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta will be hosting the third international conference through the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide with the participation of Multi-Regional delegations from 50 countries. The conference will be held on October 17-19, 2017 in Cairo under the title, “The Role of Fatwa in Creating a Stable Society”.
The conference will discuss a number of vital issues relating to the role of Fatwa in creating a stable society, investigating the deviant extremist Fatwas that undermine the communities’ infrastructure by inciting violence, murder and social unrest as a pretext justifying terrorist attacks. The conference will also shed light on the protective measures that should be taken into account to eliminate the spread of extremist Fatwas and replacing them with the correct legal opinions.
It is worthy to mention that the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide is the first specialized Scholarly Authority comprising 35 Muftis from across the globe that will be working to promote moderate Islamic teachings. The General Secretariat was established in December 15, 2015 at Egypt’s Dar al-Iftaa premises in Cairo.
